Personal Number Plate
I am thinking of selling my personal registration plate, i want to do it privately.
Can anyone tell me what the proceedure is, do i put it on retention and just sell or is there more to it |

No thats it - just put it on retention and don't forget to include the £80 transfer fee that you'll have paid into whatever price you charge....but everyone knows it has to be paid so just make it "£xxx + tfr fee"

well you need to pull your finger out cos it takes a couple of weeks these days to get the retention cert and a new number for the vehicle (which is sometimes the original reg but sometimes not, I've had both happen) - local DVLA offices used to do it there and then but won't nowadays ...I wouldn't have put it up for sale til I'd got that done personally cos it stops the purchaser insuring etc... .
