Default Random Misfiring(NEED ADVICE)

Hi i driver a Nissan Pathfinder 2006 4x4, noticed it was not running smooth so i had it checked out ,machine reports Random Misfiring and the mechanic advises i change the ECU.

Please advice

I do not know anything about the Pathfinder, but most unlikely to be ECU unless it is a known problem ie bad batch of units etc, more likely are the information inputs to the ECU like MAF, Crank position sensor, injector lift sensor etc, Rick

forgot to say do you have any fault codes? but on a 2006 I am not sure how you read them, Rayf is your man on here, Rick

"I have a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder 4.0 V6... Had ECU replaced . Now is throwing a random misfire code P300... what are these code and can one cause the other? Help!"

Why did you have the ECU replaced?

Was the replacement brand new or second hand, is it possible the replacement is not the correct type for your car. As said normally its a sensor rather than the ECU.

Is there a manual in the downloads section for the Pathfinder? Or a manual for another vehicle with the same engine perhaps.
