Quick question and tow balls
Going to look at a bigger caravan at the weekend, it's fitted with a alko stabiliser hitch head .
If we buy it will I need to replace my std tow ball? Paul.

Yes, one of the extended neck jobbies, if you buy from a dealer get them to throw one in, it should be included with a new van anyway.
If you're buying 2nd hand then I think Towsure do a patterm copy which is somewhat cheaper than the Alko branded one. Don't forget to remove the paint from the towball before use. |

When you get the new towball, no grease and clean the paint off with wet and dry :wink:

also might need the pads on the coupling. it the other owner didnt look after it well.
might be worth asking the dealer to change them if you can.. |

also running at 65% the car DONT let teh caravan misbehave at alll : |

Thanks for the replys, the caravan is not a new one (1997) for sale by it's owner, our tow ball is held on by 2 bolts got it from Halfords the other week when we replaced the elec's for towing, will have a look on Towsure & see whats what.
Neil, getting one with a end bedroom, the other week got so sick of putting our bed up & down evey day. :? Paul.
