Hi the company i work for had a bad fire 2am thursday morn.
it started in the paper recycle plant due to a motor catching fire (we think)
1 MILLION DAMAGE 3 MONTHS BEFORE UP TO FULL PRODUCTION AGAIN.
In the mean time agency staff no work rest of us short time coming .
me i am on holiday for a week.

know how you feel with regards to being put on short time.
it happenend to me this time last year.
i made ends meet by breaking my old terrano.

Feel for you mate

My Family were all miners or in associated industries and had all been made unemployed in the late 80's and 90's (a lifetime away i know).

They Live in Arnold and Gedling

Not sure were u r in relation to that area.

fortunatly most finish at 12 0r 1am .
I finished at 12am other machine driver finished at 1am but stoped talking to security man while the other did his rounds fire spotted at 1 30 am. by security.
machine driver managed to drag a lot of the paper away from the plant so some of it didnt get totaled.but a flashover set other parts ablaze
