Detachable Towbars
Does anyone know much about detachable towbars?
My thoughts are that the mechanical connection is a point of failure and I’ve thought this for years especially say towing a car Transporter trailer having the heavy weight. They definitely do look better than a conventional towbar and of course you don’t catch your shins . I’m planning to have a towbar on my VW van but have my concerns as you can see but on the other hand there’s thousands out there on the road. What’s everyone’s opinions? |

Most modern cars have them.
Tow bar is mounted behind the bumper and ball hitch just attached when needed by removing the access cover on the bumper. Same as any tow bar really. Just don't exceed it's weight rating and away you go. |
