Default Terrano / Mistral

Yes - this is my first post.
I was able to pickup a 1998 Nissan Mistral stateside with 49K on the clock. It had been setting for a very long time.
Within the first day or two the brake pedal became squishy - and after another few day the brake alarm went off.
If I stand on it the brakes work as they should.
The fluid level in the master cylinder has not dropped so I suspect corrosion or a bad seal in the master cylinder.
Could anyone please direct me to a part number for the RHD version of the 1998 Mistral / Terrano.

This one was built in Spain and shipped to Japan. It is extremely clean but appears to have been setting in long term storage before being exported to the US.

I have found the following part number online but would prefer not to order and then find out they do not fit.

Nissan 46010-0F002
Ford 1956522

Hi and welcome, before you start changing parts lets see what you have, you say the BF is up to level so good so far, now pump the pedal without the engine running, goes it go hard? the with your foot on the pedal with moderate pressure start the engine, does it go down? let me know Rick

Rick,

It did exactly as you stated had to pump to get the pedal hard without the engine running, however after starting the pedal pressure dropped slowly and the pedal dropped down. It took a few seconds for it to drop but it did.

Rick,

When I put my foot on the pedal to start the engine -and the engine starts the pedal starts to drop as I am putting it into gear and I have to press really hard to prevent it from creeping forward. When I hit the brakes at normal road speeds the pedal feels soft and the alarm buzzer goes off. The brake warning light on the dash is on all the time.

The brake warning light is controlled by 3 things, the hand brake, low fluid and vacuum, if it is on all the time then sounds to me like low vacuum, you need to test this with a gauge, Rick
