Default Advice wanted.

Hiya,
Being new to the club and not knowing much about the Terrano yet, can anyone explain to me what the Auto locking wheel hubs are, what they do and when they come into play?
Thanks

auto-locking hubs are a the part of the front hub which are supposed to lock the drive shaft so that the wheel can me turned by the prop, and are unlocked by reversing

Not quite correct, they are not "Unlocked by reversing" all the time the box is in 4 wheel drive they work forward and reverse, they "Unlock" when there is no drive to the hubs, but to free them off you may need to reverse in order to unwind the transmision and allow them to release, Rick

i think its drive in oppsite direction you were driving in when in 4h or 4l as if u were reversing last you need to drive forward in 2wd to release them and the other way around if u were driving forward u would need to reverse the truck think im right but if not sorry
