obviously there are many more avenues of thought regarding the use of alternative fuels , the idea is to provide information and advice to those members considering the use of alternative fuels , so they can make a informed decision

good one.

I use new veg oil and diesel mixed, not sure of the exact quantities but probably 30'/, svo. No problems so far.
Veg oil is cheaper than diesel, makes less pollution, and smells better. 3 good reasons to use it.
If the fitter at my work is right my fuel pump is going to break due to lack of lubrication. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

You won't want to fork out for a 2nd hand or new fuel pump

Wake some 2 stroke oil in it for lubrication

Might just try that. I've been using petrol redex which has similar properties to 2 stroke oil.
I can remember when the garage near me had a redex pump on the wall for 2 stroke oil. It was right near the 2 star petrol pump !
