Done it.
Yep, after much deliberation I've gone for the 2002 3.0 SVE, Ocean Blue, £3500 plus £144 for the MOT (front anti roll bushy things, headlight beam position, labour etc) which aint too bad me thinks.
He did say that the brake and fuel lines are corroded, but ok at the moment....any ideas anyone. Also, had a closer look today underneath and there's a bit of oil...not excessive and not dripping on the drive, not the engine sump, but a smaller sump right behind it...any ideas? Not worried at the moment, just curious. Finally, clutch, seem to have the pedlal nearly to the floor to engage/change gear, is the clutch on it's way out or could it be the hydraulics? Apart from that, all ok |

I would hazzard a guess that the clutch needs bleeding. Certainly try that to begin with. Top up the little pot as you are doing it also. You need to bleed it both at the slave cylinder, and the end of the damper pipe (if they still fitted these in 2002?)
You are probably looking at the gearbox sump plug if it is about level with the gear lever (inside) that is damp with oil ? |

Yeah, was thinking about bleeding first, see if it has any effect.
It could be the engine sump! It's behind the front axle, and then there's a chassis member and it sits in front of that. Took some pics, looks like it's been leaking when travelling. Any ideas? |

Cheers for that, I knew there was possibly one somewhere at the back but didn't know where to look.

put neat screen wash in a garden spray bottle and soak engine. leave for 20 mins then pressure wash
then the cause of leak will be more obvious. mine was blowing fuel out of a split pipe |

Ah, right, that's where I drain the oil then. It's black stuff that's leaking, just need to find out where now.
