Default what is wrong with my laptop

hi.
trouble wit lappy.
if i try to google something it redirects me to another site usualy advertising something.
if i click on nissan site from favourites for example it eventualy loads but its very slow .
i set my anti viarous soft ware to do a clean up .it found trojons and add ware.
ive deleated them ,but i am still having problems.
any advise please.

have you tried windows defender? free from microsoft it is pretty good at detecting this sort of stuff!

Ian you still have trojans by the sound of it - they typically divert your browser.

You need to download AVG 9.0 and SpyBot. Wait and I'll find you the correct links, as there are lots of dodgy ones.

The other thing to do is run these in safe mode (usually hold F8 down on startup and select "Safe mode with networking")....because hardly anything is running, it stops the virus or trojan regenerating itself, which they frequently do.

OK, AVG 9.0 is available here - make sure you download the free version.

Spybot is here...

Once installed, do updates then reboot into safe mode (hold F8) then run each one in turn. That should do for pretty much anything you have wrong.

I use avg 9.0 would spybot be needed as well? I also use crapcleaner from time to time gets ride of all the rubbish lying about that slows the pc down. regards bri

spybot tends to look more for spyware and adware which also do funny things but aren't quite the same as Trojans or virus....its sort of a moot point as they are all little feckers, but if you download spybot you'll find it picks up different stuff to AVG.

agree about CCleaner, very useful little utility.

sounds like your internet has been hijacked, i have linked to some sites that will help, i use spyhunter and it does the job but it's a paid version.
