Default Hello from a new Terrano owner

Hi all,

Just a quick post to introduce myself. I'm a 24 year old mother of 4 lovely children. Yesterday I bought a 1995 Nissan Terrano SE 2.4 petrol. This is my first 4X4, station wagon SUV or whatever you like to call it. The reason I bought it is because I have 2 severely disabled boys with a very rare life threatening condition that requires regular hospital treatments and appointments, and I need to do a 200 mile round trip almost weekly from Pudsey to Newcastle general infirmary as that is the nearest hospital which specialises in my sons conditions. Hence the need for a 7 seater as we regularly need to stay up there for days at a time if either of the boys are admitted and we all go.

I have not had much chance to "test it out" yet but am hopeing to give her a good spin over the weekend.

Thanks for reading
Kelly

Hello Kelco and welcome to the club

I saw some side steps on good old Ebay the other day in the car spares section.
I am only 5ft its fun isnt it but I decided against side steps thought they may encourage rust as they can be a dirt trap just a thought.

Good luck with the terrano I love mine

Hi Kelly and welcome aboard, you'll find stacks of advice and banter on here. I've had my Terrano for 6 1/2 years and still love it to bits. Mine has side steps fitted as standard and I have to say for once I'm disagreeing with Willow I don't find them a cause of rust. A lot of people don't like them for off road as they do catch on things so you sometimes get them advertised on here as well as ebay. I'm from near Huddersfield so not a million miles away from you.

Aye up Kelco - I'm tother side of Leeds to you - South Milford (beyond Garforth).

I'm going down one of the scrappies I like to use today (middleton area) if I see any side steps I'll let you know. Had em to start with on my old Mav and as said above theres not really anywhere on em to collect mud to cause corrosion, not thats not blatantly obvious anyay and that you can't get to easily enogh with a hose pipe. They attach purely to the chassis ad don't touch the bodywork so rust shouldn't be an issue.
