Default Diesel pump?

Hello

I've posted on the forum before but I cant put this subject where it needs to be. Might be because I've not been active for a little while 😃

I've just got my self a T2 3.0 version this time but its doesn't start. When I looked to getting this I was told that the fuel pump is at fault.

I've done all the electrical tests, I've got power to the pump and I've got a good earth all over the engine. I can prime the pump but on cranking I'm not getting diesel coming out.
(I've cracked a fuel pipe off from the pump)

My next job I was thinking is doing wiring tests from the fuel pump plug to the ECU plug and make sure those are ok. Also I need to check that the solenoid is getting power to command the pump?

Or it's going to be a case of making a start stripping the front of the engine down to make sure the cogs are turning on the pump?

Or worst case scenario Should I just admit that I'm going to need a fuel pump? And if so would anyone know of any for sale or if there are any diesel specialists to re con my pump?

Im based on orpington, kent. South east.

Thank you in advance.

Jem

the 3l does usually not start if fuel is getting to ip,its most likley the box on the top of the pump thats got a fault in it.i have read about this a few times in the past and there is a couple of places that can repair the control module.you need to take pump off and send it to them.vary realy its the mechanical parts that go wrong only the control module.do some research on line to help you.
