MOT Dates
Hi guys, just a hypothetical question. Say your MOT is due around Christmas time when the weather is likely to be cold. Is it possible to get a MOT in say July knowing that you lose 6 months worth of MOT but the advantage of effectively moving the MOT date to middle of summer when it is more likely to be better weather to work on your truck.

I'd say yes.
If you had an MOT today and it passed, all is well and good. If you repeat the test next week and fail, it's the second test that the law would look at, you couldn't fall back on to the previous test. The only question might be explaining it to a potential buyer. |

I must admit, depending on when the MOT is, I try to move it to the spring/summer, by bringing it forward a couple of months at a time until it's at a more reasonable time. Most cars that come to me, come to live out their lives, so it's never been a problem having to explain it to anyone else.
