Fitting Ceiling Lamps where are the designers ?
Unless I am missing something no one appears to have designed a cheap compact simple plug in connector for fitting a ceiling light.
Every time I change a ceiling light it's the same fiddle of holding an often bulky light unit so that I can connect the unit to the block connector that you can just reach at the point where the plaster board has a hole in it for the wiring. Why has someone not designed a simple block connector that will take a small plug at one end so you can just plug it in and screw the light to the ceiling ? If we can make car wiring plugs, PC plugs like SATA why not the humble light unit ? A Debox in line connector is about all there seems to be on the market! In the past I have used a re-shaped coat hanger attached to a screw in the ceiling to hold the lamp whilst trying to make the electrical connections free of tension or pull...........ahhhhhhhhhhhh. I am already bracing myself for the arm ache when I fit our new ceiling lamps in the lounge. |
