Automatic In Sport Mode
Wow what a difference sport mode has made, totally different drive.
Does anyone what the snow flake does, ok I know it's for snow and ice conditions but what does it actually do. Wondering if it holds it in 2nd or something. |

The sport mode just holds the gear longer in the rev range before changing up, the snow setting IIRC cuts out first gear & you pull away in second so to help reduce the chance of wheel spinning

Sport / snowflake
As has been mentioned sport mode moves the gear change points to a higher engine r.p.m. and snowflake starts you off in 2nd gear where torque load permits and moves gear change points to lower r.p.m.
Some manufacturers call it Winter / Summer mode or Sport / Economy mode all pretty similar outcomes really. Mercs amongst others have for some time also had adaptive gearchanges where the gearbox ECU remebers your driving style and moves the shift point based on a number of your previous journeys in each mode.
