Default dash lcd download

Id there a download \how to on repairing dry solders on lcd as have had a look through but cant see it

you don't need a download as its pretty straight forward and you just need basic soldering skills, strip out the instrument cluster and take the back off, you will see a row of pins that line up where the Lcd is, all I did was touch each pin lightly with a soldering iron until the solder melted then moved onto the next pin, you need a soldering iron with a nice clean tip
when i first did mine i just targeted the pins that look bad, that was a mistake as it lasted only a few days, so makes sense to just do all the pins
the soldering quality is pretty poor hence the Lcd failures, some pins may not have enough solder on them to do anything, then you may have to add a little
I found one of those magnifying visor things from maplins helped a lot as my eyes struggle these days

Excellent video, like you said i doubt it needs stripping down so far. Just the white cover off to allow access to the solder joints. Looks like he's soldering with a flipping shovel though
