They look like static water tanks to me, we have the same things in woods near Reading.

I think its an old water tank they have quite a few of them near Clipstone Forrest in Notts on the old MoD tank testing grounds.
When I lived that way I used to collect Daphnia from them in the summer to feed to my tropical fish. You also get them with corregated steel surrounds presumably used as a mould when they built them. |
