Late Mk1 Square Headlight T2 for sale
Having just agreed to buy Kishada's T2, mine is now up for grabs if anyone is interested. Chances are she's worth more in bits than as a whole, but I'd rather see her stay running if possible.
I'll get some pics posted soon, it's a 1996 LWB metalic green Mk1 SE with 146,000 on the clock, but has had the seats changed out for a grey leather interior that is in quite good condition. The front wings a have a few dings, but are totally rock solid replacements, however they do need painting as they are a fetching red which contrasts ever so slightly! Main reason I'm buying a newer one, I am quite sure that she needs the head gasket done. She compresses the coolant and eventually dribbles it out the expansion tank overflow. I've not driven more than a few miles since this has started so I doubt there has been any head damage. I've run her for the last 16,000 or so miles on a mix of WVO/SVO and diesel depending on what's been available and she's been pretty economical really. Would have just got the repair done and kept her, but the new one is blue and the good lady prefers blue cars! Good bits: MOT until November 2014, tax just until end of June. 4 new remould Marix panther(?) only a few months ago, Grey leather seats (all 7), recent (last 12 months) tail and middle exhaust sections fitted. Very shiny rad cap (a few days old!) 4x4 system works as far as I can tell. Tow bar/ball fitted and a load cover in the back. Solid (excepting the few wee dings) front wings. Bad points: Head gasket seems to be blowing through to the coolant - no mayo in the oil nor any loss of power in the engine, but this will need doing. Has the usual electric switch issue with the ignition key that cuts power if you try and start her too enthusiastically, easy fix, just never got round to it. Body work had a fair bit of welding for last MOT, front mount was pretty much rebuilt and some work done to the ends of the front bumper reinforcing bar. Both sills, inner and outer have been patched although the sections nearer the body mounts are still original and solid. Some bubbles on the back wings near the plastic trim, will need sorting at somepoint although the seat belt mount area has been repaired on one side, the other is still sound. Aircon light goes blue when you press it, but the air gets no colder than standard Scottish air, I'm guessing the gas has all gone somewhere else instead. I'll probably think of a few more things both good and bad, but will try and make sure anyone interested is fully aware of what I'm selling. I do need to move it faily soon, so if no-one takes her whole, then I'll split what I can and scrap the rest. |

Front tyre tread - haven't got a proper depth gauge, so a penny will have to do!
