waxol lance
Hi all,
As I had the door card off to fix the mirror I thought Waxol the inside of the door, can't make the flexi lance thingy work, the gun on the compressor work well screw the flexi bit on and the container gurgles hardly any waxol gets out the end. I turned the pressure down to 20 psi and up to 120 in 10psi stages, none of them made any difference. Should I thin it out more? Heating it up wont work, the air get in the container and cools it down I was planning on squirting some inside the box sections before the winter dave |

Hi Rich, my first thought, I can blow through it OK
I am going to try neat white spirit in the morning and if that works then add waxol in measured amounts until it stops, then I will know the correct concentration. The one before it stops of course. If neat white spirit does not spray out I will get a new gun and lance. thanks for your input dave |

Waxoyl Lance
Mine only worked for the first few days when I used it again about 6 months later it just would not work again.
I put it down to a combination of poor component material and white spirit attack. |

Do the waxoyl on a warm summers day... oopps too late.
Warming the waxoyl helps and shake it well. I stand the can in a bucket of hot water, and after half an hour replace hot water, then shake well. The waxoyl damages rubber type components, it makes them expand if in continued contact. So it might affect the seals or valves in the sprayer If you get waxoyl on to flexible brake lines, the rubber expands in those areas whilst the solvent evaporates. Doesn't appear to cause any long term issues as far as I am aware, but try to keep it off tyres hoses etc just in case. Rustic

It will not even spray neat white spirit, yet there is no obstructions in the pipe.
New one is on the cards dave |

I have an electrical resistance meter that checks water content & this shows a marked degradation of the brake fluid within 1 year if waxoil is not used. Perhaps waxoil is best used on vulcanised rubber only? I agree with the problems using applicators & tend to treat them as one use only. |
