Changed my rear lights at the weekend
Got rid of those pain in the ass bumper lights at the weekend and swapped the dummy lights in the boot door pillars for proper euro spec clusters ...
Before Trim panels open and everything ready to go Nearside bumper light unit out Cover now redundant connector and cable tie out the way (the other connector is for the towbar electrics) Nearside light cluster out Offside bumper light next (connector covered and tied up as before)... ...and the offside light cluster Nearside light connector is completely plug and play, indicator, brakes, rear light and reverse light, but the offside only has indicator and brake (no rear light and reverse light). Reverse light isn't a problem as you're only meant to have one on the nearside but I obviously need an offside rear light so crimpers and piggyback connector to the rescue... ... and run a cable under the boot carpet to the offside pillar All ready to fit the new offside cluster The other connector is for the fog light (for connecting into the bulb holder for the reverse light) Offside cluster all fitted Job done! Next step is to cover the holes in the bumper with checker plate. ... and just while I'm posting pics, here's one of Foxy last weekend with loaded roofrack, ready to head down to Birmingham for the Midlands Super Spartan (was taking down some kit for Fez ) |

Looking better mate
I'd advise taping up those joins with self amalgamating tape though . Keeps them water proff, OR you can get heat shrink waterproof stuff now. You'll be suprised where water will get after a good wading session |
