it IS up my avenue! I want the newer shape, but I need details such as mileage blah blah as I am off to see one tomorrow in Keighly for £1500 which looks a bit better but if Bobs is good I can cope with the rust for a £1000 car.

I don't think mileage is a problem on these motors. But tin worm is. Rot can't be that bad if it's got 11mths mot

yup, I agree, im not too worried about mileage but if it was knocking over 170k id be a bit hmmm, but its got 135k which I am comfortable with as I don't do loads of miles. the tin worm will always be an issue for my budget, but this one sounds well looked after and im prepared to take it on (I don't expect it to NOT have rust or develop rust in my ownership) and with 11 months MOT to play with id be well happy as it gets me right through winter!

with all due respect clive , the M.O.T. isn't really worth the paper its printed on with respect to the longevity of the vehicle , it only says that on that day it was tested it complied with current M.O.T. standards , plus of course some testing stations aren't exactly compliant with the standards
