Default FAO cornish

posted here as cant reply to your thread as my membership has lapsed, noisy gearbox in neutral could be the clutch thrust bearing i have the same problem

if you press the clutch does the noise go?

I have same prob, press clutch it goes, mines far too deep tone and loud to be release bearing, its the input shaft bearing I think

mines the same rattles its bag off in neutrel with your foot off the clutch.
press it and its fine
how long can you run it like this for?
I will eventually change the clutch (well my mate will) and will try and sort the problem then

Try putting the transfer box in neutral then the gearbox in gear, see if the noise goes when in gears
