Default New here ...

Hi guys and gals . Thought I would drop a quick hello . At present I live in Kent but being a dumb Aussie that has been freezing here for 18 odd years I thought it was time to move home .

Am looking at exporting a 4x4 along with all the household bits and bobs and , well , the Nissan Terrano has caught my eye . Really like the styling and have started looking around for one (saw a dog yesterday though , eeeeew yuk !) around the 2004 year , 5 door and definitely the 3.0 diesel .

Anyone on here know what the Terrano scene is like out in Australia , have done a little bit of trawling on the net but thought I would save a bit of time and ask the experts !

Todd

NO
I spend far too much time on Aus patrol forum and they're expensive but the best
As far as I can see the terrano isn't very popular out there
I'm suprised it's cost effective though to export a truck from here to there
Most trucks out in Aus I understand re relatively rot free too

Just thought I would say "Hi" from Sevenoaks in Kent...

There is a guy who comes on from down under, who might be able to help you more. http://www.nissan4x4ownersclub.com/f...ad.php?t=16965

The only thing I can say, is have a serious look at how many of the T2's there are out there, as it is a car that needs repairs, and you need to be able to get the parts at a reasonable cost. We have just purchased a Grey Import T1, which is like the ones they had out there, and trying to find parts is already proving entertaining, but luckily a fair few were imported.

I have just come back from out there (16 days of warmth) and 4x4's appear to be expensive . Ie a Shogun Sport here for around £5K ($7,500) will cost about another £3K to ship and import (along with another car and personal items) so about £8K ($12k) . The equivalent car out in Western Australia will be 33% more

Lost on model types ... is the WD21 the predecessor to WD40 ? help ?

If finances dictated I would walk straight in and get a brand new Navara Dual Cab 3.0 Tdi

i can vouch for that people i am in WA and the cost of 4x4 is over the top, the terrano over here is actually the WD21 pathfinder.. patrols are all over the place and from what i have seen rot free, my terrano is a 1991 and is totally rot free, makes a change from the UK as i am from the Midlands.

i also have a 1985 honda city Pro T lol for nipping about perth and that is rot free also... can you believe it.

it is worth baring in mind that if you import a car to OZ you will need to get it registered and you know (being an ozzy) how strict the test is especially as it as an import

look me up when you are here could do will a pal to get bogged at lancelin with

cheers

They are generally ok if it is a personal import and the vehicle was released there originally . Thatbis why I have slight concerns over the Terrano , especially as I will be getting one around 2004/2005 year . The other one I am looking at is the Shogun Sport which was released there as the Challenger .

Used to go to lancelin back when I was a teenager .

We usually take my brothers Hilux down to White Hills and on to the beach for a spot of fish bothering .
