Default Hi From Sevenoaks Kent

Hi, we are Clive and Suzanne.

We have just got a 1999 Terrano 2.7TDI SE Touring, as a car to tow our Caravan, and have some fun with.

Many years ago, I got the Off roading bug, when Suzuki gave away a free "Dirty Weekend" with a new Vitara. We went to North Wales with my 3 week old LWB petrol Vitara company car, and had a great weekend, even getting pictures of my car published in an Off road mag.

After putting 240K miles on the Vitara in 3 1/2 years, many of those off road, she was traded in for a Grand Vitara Diesel LWB, which was also put through the joys of getting mud under it. We decided we needed something that was not our day to day transport, and had a series of SJ's, as well to play with. Unfortunately, practicalities of life and job changes got in the way, and we got rid of all the off roaders, and settled into the awful Peugeot, company wrecks that they laughingly refer to as cars. Luckily, I Opted out of the company car scheme, and moved over to Volvos, which we have had for a good many years.

Once Volvos were taken over by Ford, the whole Marque went down hill, and the last ones did not live up to what you expect form a Volvo, plus a run of bad luck resulted in us needing to find an older cheaper car for a while.

The Terrano fitted all the boxes we need, and I have to say that so far I am loving driving it.

As you may have guessed from the name, we are Ferret fanatics, and one of the things the Terrano has to do, was to fit 2 large cages containing 12 ferrets into the back, for when we do our Ferret PR days, plus carry those same ferrets, when we put the caravan on the back and head away on holiday.

We look forward to reading the stories of what you guys get up to with your trucks.

Thanks.. there are some inspirational pictures there..

Not to mention a few pretty scary ones... You seem to have a thing for cutting lumps of metal out of your car
