Got Gas can Weld (Sort of)
Well i have finally given up on them stupid disposable gas bottles you get at machine mart for welding. They cost about £15 each and last about a day if your lucky due to the fact they leak like hell.
So today i have been to EnyGas and hired a 10kilo gas bottle, Now the hire charge is £46 per year, but a re-fill is only £22. You have to pay the hire charge in advance, but if you take it back after you have finished with it they only charge you for how long you had it. So if i have it 2 month and re fill it once it will have cost me about £53 or less then 4 of them disposables ones. Then i just call and collect a new one next time im welding again. I really think this is the way forward as i have a fair bit of welding to do coming up. |

some places let you do a one off deposit for the bottle and charge per refill.
Local place to me is £20 for deposit and £20 per refill. |

I thought that was how they would do it round here, but a mate of mine who is a welder saysd most are like this now. There is a guy down in Stoke on Trent that will do it that way but it works out more on fills cos you have to travel over there, about 90 mile round trip.

there is a fire extinguisher company near to me and they change the top of an extinguisher to the right valve for a welder and then do carbon dioxide (or other inert gasses they use refills and it's pretty cheap
