fridge not working again!
hi all
not been able to use the van for a couple of months(weather etc).so thought i`d plug the mains in and try things out(going to france in a month with van)so turn the fridge on and left it all day and its not cooling. this happened once before and went back to the dealers to be sorted.they said they took fridge out and pluged it in and it worked fine so it must have been when they took the fridge out and disturbed the gas that must have setteled in the bottom but its happened again and the vans only two years old,so a phone call to the dealer again tommorow.anyone else experienced anything like this? |

Hi chumba,
I once had an Avondale Landranger 6400es I got to the site same thing no fridge 8O I rang the dealer he told me that you must have the van dead level as it has a micro switch to stop it working so I rechecked and got it a bit more level and it worked now I take more care getting it level in both directions. |

If its a 3 way fridge it works slightly different to a normal fridge Its called an adsorbtion type.if you can get it out turn it upside down for 12h and then up the right was for 24h and then switch it on. The unit is filled with two types of gas which should seperate but if a fridge is left for a long time they tend to mix turning the fridge upside down just mixes the gases up and when they settle they should seperate again.
This will not work on a normal compressor type fridge.

To mix the gases you could just take it for a run for half an hour then try again, it should work, had this once before and that is what the caravan centre advised.

Is your fridge still working ?, if not the mains and gas do not work together at the same time, its one or the other. Simular problem with mine and put a new element in and it works ok now.
