I remember a rainy night 1985/86 ish travellng with a mate to wakefield of all places to look at one of those.
At the time it wasnt a classic in fact i seem to recall they were in the not wanted almost banger group. He didnt buy it because the bloke wanted to much. Maybe he knew something we didnt back then

i had mine in 1974 and bought it from the mechanic i was serving my apprenticeship with, £325 i paid had it 6 months and sold it on for £310, i couldn't sell it at the time,
, the trouble is i had 7 mk2 lotus's and didn't learn my lesson, i didn't keep one,

you can get classic insurance with some companies after 15 years, but it's normally 20-25 years, but the mav will have fallen a part by then lol
