warning about carpark height barriers
Just a daft one really, but there are quite a few non covered car parks around here that have height barriers. normally my terrano fits under them nicely but I went to one yesterday and the ice on the floor under the barrier must have been about 6 inches thick and my terrano would not fit under the barrier
luckily I thought about this before I drove under the barrier and saved myself any damage Just thought i would point this out for you guys to bear in mind if you are out and about |

Just think if there was a barrier on the way out, and you had parked there before the snow... ie Airport....
Good point especially when you know how much clearance you have and take it for granted. I would think if there was a height indicator there, you could claim negligence on the car park owner..... But this weather is exceptional, and the insurance companies are already paying out to people who should have stayed at home. Best not try it unless you have AA membership, with their legal department.

Aargh, barriers,that reminds me
Went to the tip a few weeks back and the barrier was about roof bar height on my truck So after asking the tip flunky to let me in and his royalness saying NO, I took umbridge and came in anyway I needed my sons help though, he got on the roof and pushed down on the truck and up on the barrier. Stepped over as I went in and hopped off after Dropped off the crap then realised it was even higher on the way out So I had to ask a couple of gob smacked tippers to climb on me truck so I could get out again That showed him, ruddy jobsworth |
