Yes I think so, doesn't leak tho, only thing I've done with it is smothered all the runners and moving parts in multipurpose grease, what a difference its made, runs moves really quickly and effortlessly and the motor sounds like its running is 24 volts

That's what I have at the back of mine, a flettner one, it really draws the Air con through in the summer, and helps the demister in the winter..

My radio aerial is at the back, in the roof, so I put the flettner just to the front of that. Before I started, I made up a marine ply wooden spacer to take up the gap between roof, and the liner, and painted it, making sure to do the edges really well.

I Then used a circular hole saw to cut the big hole in the roof (worst moment ever starting to drill a hole that size in the roof), then once the hole was cut, I painted the edges, then used silicon sealant to fix and seal the wooden spacer to the roof. The 3 screws that hold the vent on, go right through from the top, to the bottom, so once fitted the roof, spacer, and roof lining are all sandwiched together, between the inside vent and outside rotatory fan. The inside vent has a slide switch to open and close it, but so far I have never needed to shut it.

Hmmm sounds rather good that, have you got any pics? I might look towards doing it on mine, also it'll keep the dog cool too

If it is rotating, then they also rotate at night, and the noise will keep you awake.

So you need some way of stopping it, if it gets too noisy.
Like I said, consider the marine type as well.

I'll take some pictures later, about to pop out today. The original reason I installed it was for the ferrets when we travel with them in the back, so it would be perfect for a dog.

Not sure if it is how I have mounted it, but I have been very surprised, as I do not get any noise from it at all... I often sit in the car, when waiting for my Wife at the train station, and even in wind that has been rocking the car, I have never heard the Flettner. Stopping it would only take a poundshop rubber wedge popped against it, if you really needed to.

As I say, not sure if it is because I went for the good make, or if it is the way it is installed, but very pleased with it.
