my Terrano camper conversion

yup, im doing this to my Terrano, since the entire interior is out except the dash and door cards, fitting 12v fridge, gas cooker, insulation behind the roof & side panels etc, going all out camper, going to build a wood frame that fits in then the back seats are down making the entire load area flat for a mattress to fit, will use it for camping and going to music/rock festivals etc, already got a lot of wiring fitted, also ran about 15 wires in the roof for lights, TV aerial etc, pics will be up later



Toby is being transformed into a luxury, modern expedition vehicle, as dumb as it sounds, I'm going to have a gas stove, electric heater, fridge, and whatever else I need to comfortably live in him lol. But there is also the in car entertainment side too, lights, Television, radio and a few other things going in.

I'm basicallally doing a custom interior that'll be

functional
modern
technological
Luxury
Unique

Toby will have everything needed for living and in comfortably since I love camping.

I'll be able to put all the supplys and things needed for traveling on the roof rack so the living area won't be filled up in the back. The great thing is, even after all these mods, he will still be able to be used as a 7 seater people carrier.

Gas is carried in camper vans, but there must be some regulations on how it is installed and whether labels are required on the back.

You could fit warm air heating too, we have the Propex gas heater on the boat, 1.6 kw.. brilliant.

Some people use the silvered bubble wrap on walls and behind roof linings on boats, I am going to do the same on ours, and also behind the carpet that is stuck to the hull.

Windows will loose most, so consider something that gives you privacy and thermal insulation.

Be aware you will need some fixed ventilation too.

If you have a tow bar, you could fit a "bumper dumper" like Clarkson when he went to the Antarctic in Top Gear.

Will you not need to put a 12v split charge system in to power all your extras
12 engal fridges are good i find the one ring gas cookers with the cartridges are ample for cooking on and pack away neatly
Why not go for a roof tent
Also be mindfull how your mods are going to impact on your insurance
We too like the camping lark me missis four kids and two labradores where like the clampits rolling up

yes, i love camping too roof tent is too cold, i think i might do a split charge if i put i lot of high amp things in, most of my lighting for instance is LED and florescent

Too cold bahhh get a decent sleeping bag as the saying goes theres no such thing as bad weather just bad choice of clothing
Layering is the key as my grandad used to say lad you can always take a layer off

If you enjoy something that much whats a bit of cold lol i spend 3 days at a time in my fishing bivvy even in the snow as said before layers are the key
