done more work on my storage today as well as yesterday and got it 80% complete, just need to carpet it all and wire up the light i fitted underneath so illuminate the storage ares and then its finished, as you can see i borrowed some caravan pillows to test it, will get a custom pillow/matress made.......or a water bad

might be worth fixing rail to mdf first as direct fixing of hinges in mdf aint very good mate well in my opinion

dont worry its thick strong mdf, there's no cracking or bending when open

No such thing
If you must screw into it , don't screw into the "end grain". Instead, predrill and screw into the flat sides and use piano hinge to spread the load

Thats what I've done, I used fat wide hinges, I'll put a pic up tomorrow

tobys gonna way quite heavy on the back end mate by the time hes finished gonna cost a bit more in diesel or veg whatever ur choice ps have u used the left hand side bearer for tamping concrete recently

Lol, this bed/storage is only in the vehicle when needed, its nor perminant, can slide in and out, and that's paint on the LH bearer, used to be a fence, will all be sanded down and carpeted

Probably weighs less without the rear seats in, they weigh a ton
