View Full Version : New to 4x4
Hi, just joined the Club. I have owned a 1997 Ford Maverick 2.7 diesel for about four months now.I purchased it 'cheap' as a second vehicle to use for my work. I also have 2007 Vauxhaull vectra which is now for sale because I never want to drive a car again!! What a great motor the Mav is. I tow a caravan and it is so easy with the 4x4, i don't have to worry about getting stuck in a muddy field ever again! Yes it's old but I have realised the parts are pretty cheap and its so easy to work on. I think I'm falling in love ha ha.
I am planning to renew the front brake discs. I have done this before on other vehicles but have never had to remove the automatic free running hub before. Is this pretty straight forward? I'm a bit surprised there is no haynes manual available ( unless you know other wise)
Also need a couple of wings in the future, any ideas where I can locate these without paying Ford prices. Thanks
