That's appalling. Thankfully no one was seriously hurt. Hope all are ok.

Hi iceman
So sorry to hear of your suffering at the hands of murderous bigots (of whatever persuasion). I lost two good friends during the troubles some years back. So glad that you and your family weren't yet another fatal statistic of that senseless conflict. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Regards CL

Glad your OK chap. Being in the Fire service I see a lot of this sort of thing unfortunately. Quite often people targeting the wrong house as well.

It is good to hear you all got out.

I hate letter boxes. I will never have one.

A bit horse bolted etc but screw the thing shut fit an out side letter box from B&Q or Argos.

FIT SMOKE ALARMS!

Good job the dog was alert.

All fire services provide 10year battery smoke alarms. FREE:thumbs

Off soap box.

they actually opened the letterbox and squirted all around so making it catch light quicker, we have smoke alarms fitted to the electric but was pointed out that we needed one nearer to the door then the kitchen, we having outside sensors cameras and security lights fitted as well.

the damage was the porch completely and smoke damage through the hall. insurers been fantastic.

Property can be replaced, people can not, always said dogs were a mans best friend, no doubts there, but was this directed at you and your family or just random, we had an arson attack two years ago burnt out a 35 ft lorry body with 1000 gallon derv tank in it, lucky it only had 50 gallons at the time, it was not random, I know who was responsible, my time will come, thankfully lives were never at risk but it is a very frightening experience, glad you and your family are OK, Rick
