I tow a car trailer if that counts? Rick

I tow a boat trailer, 2 tonne and 26 feet long and nearly 10 feet high.

Does that count?

I also tow a small trailer 5 feet x 3 feet, but that doesn't count cos I can tow it with any car.

Rustic

I do to .
swift challenger 3 90 / 2 se.
towed it with terrano and Disco.
Terrano swb pulls it better but disco sits on road better when a hgv passes.

working brakes are a legal requirment, and, if you break hard and the caravan doesn't it can jacknife and cause an accident, so do be carefull :)

I tow a Compass Rallye 534. Just back from a 5xweek trip to Spain. Loaded to the gunnels, and averaging 21mpg. Would probably have done better if we didnt take so much gear with us.

good thinking , but if i tow my wheelchair ( giving more room inside my truck ) there is a bit of a problem .... the wheelchair has centrifugal brakes , which means if i go about about 5mph it applies the brakes lol

It will be fine once I have a look at it, I think the brakes are working its just the slidey towbar thingy that works the brakes seems to have a bit too much movement in and out. I think the brakes do actually sort of work because I can make the caravan do skidz if i brake hard :clap

it just needs some fine adjustment, but I am not sure exactly how they work yet

I have been thinking about this. A trailer under 750kgs does not need brakes but my caravan weighs about 850kgs. So if I fill my caravan with helium balloons I should be ok to tow it without brakes :thumb2

Maybe just seal the doors and windows with bodge tape and pump the helium i directly to save the wieght of the balloons, i like our answer. :thumbs
