opened a tin of heinz beans and sausage sunday.
in it was a piece of green glass 2mm thick 12mm x 7mm.
took pictures and e mailed heinz .
they have replied asking me to forward details of bottom of tin and send glass.
Its ready to post but thought i would run it by you lot.
what do you think.
I think takes pics, mail them to yourself. then post of the entire tin etc. detaisl as they request. demand an investigation, because this is serious. If a youngster had opened that and scoffed them cold, they'd have cut them selves badly.
I say good luck mate and persue them accordingly!

If you want to make the biggest fuss, then get in contact with your local "Environmental Health" department, via your local council.
Or advise the supplier that's what you intend to do.
Green glass.....isn't that a character in Heartbeat.....
Oh No that's Greengrass :lol
Green glass like found in beer bottles or was the glass flat.
It is unusual to have glass near any manufacturing process as it is near impossible to detect.
You could look at trading standards, on a tin of Heinz beans it says no artificial colours,
can't get any more artificial than green glass.

Mailed this morning.
When I was a kid I bought a packet of chips at the local Fish and Chip emporium only to find a cockroach at the bottom of the packet - after i had polished off the lot. Went back inside and showed the man who accused me of doing it on purpose to get more chips and banned me from his shop.! Sod.

Dont clean up the piece of glass, keep all of the food if you havent binned it already , bag it up and keep it in the fridge. tell them you have preserved all the "evidence" for them but in view of the fact it is perishable will be disposing of it unless they request and arrange otherwise within 14 days :thumb2
I would definitely tell the local environmental officer and the store you bought it from. They will be a tad concerned about that batch, recall coming on. :D
oh and if you get nowhere there's always the local press :naughty
im glad im not a member of your household, when you get your "compensation"...

up date had a letter from heinz today stating that they had investigated the glass contamination but they have been unable to say where it could have got into there product .
however they included a postal order for £10 as a good will gesture.
so at least ive got a bit of gas money:doh
had to re read that :D
Good result. Sometimes the company is not at fault as the goods pass through so many hands before the customer gets to see the actual product. Had a guy over here years ago who tried it on with various companies, funnily enough he managed to eat all the product before discovering the fly, piece of steel, glass etc. Seemed all the alleged faulty products were fine ,excellent quality once plod called to his house.:clap:clap
Thats not good enough , they are fobbing you off , thats a £25k+ fine they are trying to avoid.
