im thinking of selling the trol but im unsure what to buy next.. i keep looking at the discoverys and think i should have 1 of them but there just too unreliable. i will be asking 4k fo my bus IF I DO SELL. i would like something with no timmingbelts if i could..

is it auto ? ...... fancy a mistral ? :augie
LAND ROVER DISCOVERY
Dreadful reliability
Fuel Thirst-especially(pointless) petrol V8
High CO2 emissions.
Stodgy on-road handling
Feels slow
Third row seats cramped and can't be folded
Reliability(again)
This from the latest WHICH report.(appears to be unreliable)
Tony
id steer clear of Discovery's if i were you. personally, i do like them, but you'd have to be lucky to get a decent well looked after example, plus they seem to command a high premium for what you get, still, i do like them. then there is the 90 or 110, but i think they arent much better and certianly not fun to drive as far as i know.
there is the Fourtraks, ive had one, and i loved it apart from it being aweful on the road (see Discovery!) but they are VERY reliable. mine was in bits, i tell you it was a bit of a tip, but it never broke down ever, took me to south wales and back plus a few thousand miles with only one bolt holding the power steering box on, i tell you, they are rock hard machines. only problem with them, is they are small, even the long wheel base is small and only three door. but you'd have no trouble off road, they are VERY simple too, very basic but everything clunks into place as it should.
after that, everything is out of my reach, so cant really advise on Xtrails or HiLux's etc, but thats where id be looking, especially hi-lux...

Why sell a Troll?? other than to get a better Troll!!!
I think the only step up is a Bigger Troll or a VX Amazon LWB 4.2 TD they hav 3 diff lox??
Or possibly A merc G Waggon but a bit ugly!!
I had a Hilux... dont believe Top Gear.... you only had to leave mine in the street over night and it wouldn't start??????? Very prone to head problems and overheating!!
Any Pics of your Troll there don't seem to be many in the club!!
As I have said before to see how reliable a truck is see how many parts or Spare or repairs are available on ebay!!

WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU THINKING MAN!!!!!!
Have a good stiff drink and then look out of the window!!!!
Then look on Fleabay / Auto trader and see what you would get with a green oval on it for 4K..... Nowt that comes close!!!!
Then you would have to join the other 'stuck up's' in the LROC...
I agree with Daved KEEP IT!!
it IS a nice motor, why do you want to sell?
i have another suggestion though, Toyota Land Cruiser! ive heard very good things about them. if its big you want, well, they are flipping big!

if i could i would
But others are happy and comfortable!!!!:augie
and some are as happy as a pig in poo with their mistral :naughty:thumb2
i dont care, i would love a sorted Defender. But its quite simple, they are TOO EXPENSIVE for what you get, i mean thousands of pounds for a realy old example...

A 90 is not a Car!... It's a way of ife... a Devotion.. A Passion.. A drain on your free time.
Oh and something else for a Troll to pull up a hill:naughty

even 15 year old t2's around still
yes for ease of parts and easy to modify id have a 90

yeah thats a fair point, you only have to look on ebay to see theres a ton of very old, but in good shape, Defender 90's for sale (still for what id call big money). personally, i would love one, BUT im only going on word of mouth, and generaly the word is good. ive never had one, or even driven one, but they have a good rep dont they?
they rattle and there drafty also all of them drip oil on the drive but even without power steering i liked to drive mine. i never took the vectra unless the other half was coming with me.. you dont have to wash them and there perfectly ok prush painted and every thing is easy to get to and cheep to do.
ffs sounds like im talking myself in to another 90 doesnt it.. i sold mine for £800 bet i cant get another for that:D

it does mate, but you make good points. i had heard they were easy to fix because they were pretty simple, and parts were easy to get to underneath. still, for me, the Maverick is probably the best choice due to the way it drives etc..just wish they werent so damned complex!
