no not that sort of protection lol ..... seriously , sally is a perfect car for me , but the way i have to get in and out means i have to sort of slide along the seat , this obviously wears the material out although it hasnt yet ... apart from chavvy type seat covers any suggestions ?

i agree with Zippy, ive seen loads of seat covers specific to these vehicles, so unelss the seats are different on the Mistral, id get a set from there...

was thinking of those with beads on , so they act like ball bearings when moved on .... but are they comfy ?

Have you thought about something like this?

Look for <TABLE border=0 cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0><TBODY><TR><TD> </TD><TD vAlign=bottom>Catalogue overview >>> Seat Swivel Bases</TD><TD> </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
A bit deer but could be well worth it in the long run.

ive sat on the beads ones, actually, they are quite comfy, as they massage you as you move about. of course they are hard, so not sure what they are like long journeys...

I always have a 'town & country' seat cver on my drivers seats to give it some protection from climbing in and out and when wearing wet muddy clothes, they are a bit exspensive compared to others that look pretty much the same. But having tried cheaper alternatives i'll stick with the town and country covers :thumb2

seat covers

Most seat covers wear the original fixed seat material faster than having no covers at all. That sounds odd but it's true. The beads are great but you end up with really marked seat cushions.

I made this mistake on the only new car I have ever bought (HP company owned most of it) it was a Mk 1 Astra 1.6 GT in gold with genuine vinyl covered lower half in black.

It had brown interior with lovely Recaro seats. The fashion back in 1984 was to have lamb skin seat covers that were to keep you warm in winter and cool in summer as well as looking cool (Bling had not been invented then) anyway after about six months I removed them to have them dry cleaned and was horrified to discover my seat material had gone really knobbly especially the base and pressure points on the side.

I ended up binning the covers and had to shave the seats with a Victor Kiam Electric Razor.

On a lighter note just wear some PVC or crimpelene trews !!
