was a good norfolk meet , rick and mags turned up , clivvy popped in to say hello to rick and mags...... and promptly rick began to look at sallys over heating problem !!!! ...... even when he was on holiday !!!!!....... needless to say rick found the problem and fixed it........ round of applause and many thanks to rick :clap:clap:clap

well done rick,
so what was it??
well done rick,
so what was it??
blown head gasket ......sourcing parts was quite difficult as we where on holiday and there didnt seem to be many places that stocked a head gasket, also , rick didnt have all the tools required to change the gasket in his car , so we had to find a place that sold a decent torque wrench.... it all took a lot of time sourcing the parts , but rick didnt bat a eyelid....and started to strip the engine while we where trying to find bits , THIS IS WHILE HE WAS ON HOLIDAY !!! , i tried to help the best i could but i was probably a hinderence more than a help lol .....now rick has fixed it , sally is even better than before ( i didnt think it was possible ) .....she runs really smoothly now seems to have loads more power , and strangely doesnt seem to use as much fuel ... but rick did adjust the rocker thingies ...so perhaps it was that......
superstar...... great bloke ..... mags was superb for putting up with us too lol
:clap:clap:clap:clap:clap:clap
i took some piccies during the engine work , but seems i cant upload them onto the site
thanks a lot mate:thumb2:thumb2:thumb2:clap
im sure rick will post a more detailed and technical post than mine.....he really is a fantastic bloke :thumb2

He sounds a LOT like me.. the only diference is...
he KNOWS what hes doing LOL
ahhhh...blown head gasket? i'd never have thought it! but then again ideas for where all that water was going were getting very thin, so a great find because if that had gone on for long, you'd have ended up with a warped wotsit...head....thingy....anyway so well done to Rick, what a star!

rick said it had a cast iron head , if it hadnt , then the head will have been knackered .....bulletproof engine ? ..... im starting to think that now
