View Full Version : ebay question.
i won football boots off ebay on the 14th may and still waiting, i have no problems with the seller i believe he is genuine with a 100% feedback, he has kept in contact all the way, he has the receipt but from his last email he is the same as me on what we do next, do i request money back or wait and what are the chances of getting my money back on lost goods, paid via paypal.
hi mate im not to sure myself cause ive never had anything go missing before i have filled a form in and gave it back to the post office and they are going to try and sort it out for us. i cant tell you how awlful i feel that you have not recieved them yet

ask for money back... its the sellers responsibility until you take delivery of the goods they claim off the postal service for lost goods , not you

dont worry about that, its his problem not yours. Dont let a 'polite' seller put you off rasing a Paypal strike....its your hard-earned cash! and there are time limits....

That's my point, the method of post "Listed" is the one you can winge about. Time limit is two weeks I think:augie
So if he's said despatch time is 3-5 days and std parcel post, you can be sat by the letter box a bit longer yet:o
he sent a email saying it was first class on last Thursday due to him stuck on the the Isle Of Man cause of the ash cloud which i accepted as a plausible answer.
you said a 2 weeks time limit whats this for ?
pay pal will not refund you if he has proof oof posting.
pay pal will not refund you if he has proof oof posting.
Proof of posting is NOT proof of delivery
Pay WILL refund if you only have proof of postage.

paypal will refund you. It can be drawn out process where ya better off to phone them after week if heard nothing. Seems to speed up a lot. If he has no legitimate tracking number then you'll get refunded. Polite sellers aren't always honest sellers.
You'll still need to wait another week though as to give time for delivery as come from isle of man (think thats where ya said).

And if you do phone them you need to do so through paypal website first as they give you a secure pin which is valid for about an hour. Then you call them and enter pin. Verification process. Phone number 08707 307 191.
Once initiated dispute, leave it few days and phone. Hope it helped

Being the suspicious sort I suspect he's either genuinely in a bit of flap or bullshitting :naughty the majority of decent people are fine trading until it goes wrong and they seem to revert to type..........dont panic Mr Mainwaring.
But put quite simply if he states posted it last Thursday (8 days ago) and can demonstrate that, its too early for anyone to launch a lost parcel or non delivery complaint. I think the post office wont count a package in the normal system as lost until about 2 weeks? could be wrong but it is a horrendously long time when youre waiting for something.
I reckon its wayyyy too early for a complaint if theres nothing to indicate any dishonesty, he's been decent , has 100% feedback (on a decent number of transactions?) and acknowledged he has to taken responsibility for contacting the post office.
I'd hold back, wait a little longer (post office time scales) let him stitch himself up if he's bullshitting then go flat out at him, paypal and the post office in a week or so :thumb2
thanks all and guess what it arrived today,:doh he was telling the truth on the package as the stamp verified it, had another parcel from the mainland posted yesterday so post office c@ckup.
maybe i should make another thread complaining about my numbers never come up on the lottery.:D
