Hi,
photo's of engine bay hopefully showing loose hoses and intercooler ect.

This open end is on drivers side wing right next to egrc solonoids A&B and the hoses are connected to this

Also found this blanked hose tucked under intercooler, looks like it heads down to fuel pump?

This pic hopefully shows size and shape of the 2 mystery hoses and position in relation to the intercooler spiggot and open ended pipe on bulkhead, whats thrown me now is finding the other blanked hose laid under the intercooler!

Hope these help with identifying if and where the 2 hoses should or should not go.Any help advice greatly appreciated.

Right, undoubtedly its had an i/c added. Looks like the Elec. Inj 2.7td to me.
Hose tail on intercooler - remains plugged and not connected - would have originally gone to the boost aneroid on the mech. inj pump.
EGR controllers remain disconnected I would suggest, but plugged in electrically.
You have no throttle valve unit, so this pipework would remain un connected.

hello Timbo,
thanks was getting worried in case they were left off accidently. What do you think the brake type pipes are, 1 goes down to a small pot type container near the top of fuel tank and 2nd one appears to go in the top of gear box. Also with this config is there any further room for improvement to turbo boost i can do, or is just best left alone?

Breathers I would say, perhaps someone else can help ??
You can check your boost pressure - it should be 10-12psi, but without being able to chuck in some additional fuel, there is no point in adjusting it higher, unless you have issues of black smoke under load.
Can you confirm you have which pump is fitted please, beacause looking at the pics again, there is no MAF which would signify a mechanical pump!
How does the truck drive, and what hose was it that you connected up which appeared to make it go better???

not sure about the pump but like you said the intercooler is an after job so not dure if the TD27 circa 1993 had electonic fuel pumps or not. I connected the hose lying on the intercooler which goes from the EGRC solonoids A & B to the tail on the intercooler, the other I connected to the open ended brake pipe on the dash bulkhead this one goes to gearbox I'm pretty sure I followed it accurately. However since then and based on your prevoius reply I found another blanked hose lying under the intercooler which looks like it goes down to the fuel pump or at least that area. Could it be that one of the hoses used to connect to this hose and the other to the intercooler tail? Both the open ended hoses in the photo are connected to the EGRC solonoids/there is also a 3rd solonoid connected making it a block of 3 and this when looking @ TD27i diagram suggests it's the throttle control solonoid.

*IF* you have a mech. pump, and *IF* that hose is traced down to a diaphragm looking thing on the top of the pump, then yes, that hose needs to be connected to the intercooler spigot. This is to increase fuelling as the turbo spools up. The truck will feel very flat without this connected and only manage about 60mph flat out! Please check and let us know exactly where this hose goes.
There are two EGR controllers- low and high EGR, and the third indeed is (was) for the throttle valve.
You need to establish exactly where the hose that goes towards the transmission ends up also. It could be a breather, but if it is hooked to the governor we need it connected as it maybe there to help control shift points and control pressure within the 'box.
I am only generalising here, as I am not familliar with the R3M or one thats had modding previously without actually seeing the vehicle.

thanks for the advice much appreciated, I will spend a bit of time tracing the lines over next few days and report back. Just to recap, I have 2 hoses connected to the EGR controllers and hanging open ended loose and have found another that is blanked off with a screw and laying under the intercooler and looks like it comes from the pump (will check it out) it looks to short to fit to the intercooler spiggot directly and the general angle/direction is to the rear of engine bay. If this hose does indeed come from pump diaphragm would it not connect to one of the other hoses (may have been cut) that come from the EGRC solonoids and the other loose hose from EGRC back to the intercooler spiggot.
The other thing that keeps puzzling me is if these hoses are meant to be connected what reasons would someone not want them to be.
