View Full Version : gratitude beyond any boundaries
ive just had a phone call from bat 21 ,to say i was shocked is a gross understatement , quite simply i cannot believe that people would do that , it restores your faith in humankind , i was hoping for a guy / guys etc to turn up with a few spanners , and lots of oil on my road , but to be told this , is absolutely astounding , yes i am disabled , but that doesnt mean im not proud also , i honestly cannot thankyou enough , if only you knew how much this means to me , i promise that once on the road i will go to a meeting and thankyou all personally , you have also made a 54 year old man cry like a baby , i thank bat 21 for organising this amazing demonstration of kindness , and also for managing to understand my speech , but also to the many members who contributed , i am proud to be a member of such a caring club .
THIS CLUB ROCKS ! ..... buy yourselves a beer folks , i hope to be able to return the favour shortly .
sincere thanks from the heart .
pete ( briggie )

Ok, so whats the plan with the truck now?
a) Getting it into an auto-specialist?
b) Have a go at DIY'in a drain if you think it may be overfilled
c) Trying to get some money back and getting shut?
I'm round the corner from you Briggie... if you need some help draining some of let me know - although at best I am 'amatuer'. :doh
Any experts on here who can answer the following...
1) Where to drain the ATF from - which spanner size needed
2) Is it possible to drian 'a couple of litres' or is it a case of dumping it all
3) Best way to empty it - hot/cold engine... is it possible to do on the road or does it need to be over a pit?
4) If it all needs dumping correct way to re-fill

Looking forward to you being back on the road Pete, with Mr Ebayscum's skull as a hood ornament.
However, if your musical taste runs to more testosterone than a crushed truck full of WWE B-listers, try this :)

Been a while since I heard 'blind man'. Solid classic rock taste you have, sir. :)
If you're a southern rock fan, check out Skinny Molly. They tour the UK regularly and are ex Skynyrd, Rossington-Collins & Blackfoot. And damn fine gents to boot.
...and a laterally linked thank you because I found the Hibria while looking for Ms. Carsen (?!) and I'd missed the release of their second opus. So ta.
yay, this is brilliant Briggie, really made up!! now you can relax, and stress not, things are gonne be sorted!! what a club, absolutely amazing, total top bunch of blokes!!!

Recently had trouble with my auto box so been here done this.
Drain the oil out should be about 5 litres comes out the sump of the auto box. Manual says 8 litres but 3 litres stay behind somewhere in some place.
Then to replace the oil you need to refill thought the dip tube. I used a 5 litre garden sprayer took the hose off the lance and stuffed the hose down the fill tube.
If the oil is a nice red colour you can reuse but if it looks grey/black ish put in new. Also if it smells like burnt toast renew.
In fact probably better using new oil.
