ok i need a recovery disc for an old acer laptop
where to get them from and id prefer to pay by paypal if i have to pay at all
might even have a go with the toshiba too if i get good at it !
clutching at straws here but would another recovery disk from an hp work or not ?
ideally you should have had one when you purchased your pc ,or at least made one by storing onto data disc(s) your operating system ,plus any important files or piccies etc you dont want to lose , try the website of the manufacturers , is it just the operating system you wish to replace ? , if you didnt have a system disc with the pc , the likelyhood is it will be stored on your hard drive , so get some cdrs and copy it , then if you ever have to reformat your pc( something to avoid ) you have a copy of your o/s , and perhaps any important files too.
i work for a company that can supply them, tell me model number, have to be exact, and i'll see if i can get you one FOC... (we are a main acer reseller)

no, you would end up with hp crap and incorrect drivers, and incorrect HAL most probably, so it wont load properly unless the hardware is near as dammit identical. easiest is to either get the recovery disc, or install a fresh copy of windows, downlaod the drivers from acer's webiste and install, job done.
or you could , accidently borrow one , take it home and sorta copy it lol
