Just back from Kielder Forest with Sweety..What a blast!! sure sweety will have his own account of it!!
I travelled down to Hexham to pick up the Bonnet Guard that i won on the bay, arranged to meet up with sweety and his clan there!! After a pee break and filling our stomachs we travelled up to Kielder to do the forest drive, hoping to get dirty in the little quarry halfway along it!! 8)
It had been threatening snow all morning as i had travelled down!
The snow just came down until we couldn't see the road, this was made even better when we came upon some boy in a big flash car,who had skidded and was off the road,so i had to tow him out of coarse
Think the snow was at least 4" when we went along the forest drive, got so far in 2wd but the grip in 4wd was perfect!!
After having fun on the track we went our separate ways,me heading back up the A68 towards the Carter Bar.
Getting closer to the Carter Bar,the road was getting more and more snow bound and slippery,so into 4wd! 8)
Came across and passed about 20 cars and Lorries struggling to get to the summit,no such problem for the T2.
When i had weaved and passed all those vehicles and got to the summit, what should be sitting there, but a police T2.
i just wound the window down and shouted,"good motor these eh!!" to which i got a big grin and a thumbs up!!
All in all a good day had!! 8) 8)

It was a cracking day Cosmic    I did'nt think there would have been as much snow as we got when we set off from Hexham  to be honest I think if it had come down any harder i think we could have been looking at a white out
As for the little recovery job i'm sure that lad will have put his Honda in the ditch again further down the road going off by the way he took off  I think it was a wise move not to go & play in the quary as now looking back I don't think we would have been able to get out up that bank in such slippery conditions & would have prob sank in the mud or water or what ever was under all that snow
I think we did quiet well to get as far as we did in 2WD with AT tyres  & YES it was me who got stuck going up a hill as I did'nt give it an enough juice   but once I put it into 4WD I was flying :P Our trip back south bound on the A68 was slow due to the snow, sluch, freezing fog & rain.
Cosmic we must do it again :P :P :P

What can i say....   8) I passed all those cars and lorries and all the marks in the snow where they were trying to get up the hill, god was my head swelling when i got to the top, with no problem at all.would have been a different story if i was in the wifes car!!! 8)
