Hello all
I'm on the market for a 4 to 5 year old X trail.

What problems do I need to be looking for when viewing vehicles?

Many Thanks in advance
Marc

also, EGR valves..

Generally the diesel is far less reliable than the petrol.

For our fourpenorth, our 56 plate 2.2dci SVE has been faultless from new (38k). Only downside is that the tyres are not common fitment and therefore quite expensive (compared to £50 a corner for our Disco) but then they lasted well to 34k. Main dealer servicing hasn't been that bad either (Sturgess of Leicester).

I'm not a fan of it as a tow car but others seem to love them so it could well be just me. It's got loads of grunt but to me it seems a bit nervous.

Best thing i can say about it is that the only 4x4 i've driven that's better on road was 52 plate 4.4 X5 and that was shocking off road and cost a fortune to buy and run. Have driven various LR's and mitsubishi's and they aren't a patch on the x-trail as an everyday car.

Hope that helps

Tony
