Hi & welcome!!

I could highly recomend the Insa Turbo Traction Track available from Spondon tyres in Derby I got 265 / 75/ 16's for £260. They stand 32" when fitted!

I'm in redcar and It's not too far to call and pick some up as I work in Essex through the week, but courier may be cheaper!
Regards
Steve

Most folks would say that 31" x 10.5" x 15" should fit without modification.

the tyres i have on are 215 80 15 and there looks like a load of room

they are a bit odd franky - the standard tyre is a 235x70 on a 16 inch rim, can't remember what the 15" one is but 215 is a bit narrower than standard (hence the higher sidewall I guess).

80% of 215 = 172mm so your current tyre combination should stand (2 x 172mm) + 15" high.

so thats 342mm + 15" = 14.65" + 15" = 29.65"

does your tape measure agree with that?

Do remember that theres quite a lot of suspension movement on these plus you have to allow for steering as well so that space isn't there for nothing...

just changed mine from 215 80 15(think this was standard size on earlier models then they changed to 235 75 15) to 235 75 15 buckshot mudders and still looks room to go bigger if i wanted:naughty

makes sense Jonno - both my trucks are currently on standard 235x70x16s

Hi.
My Terrano had 235/75/15 fitted as standard.
I have just fitted 31x10.50 R15 General Grabber AT2's all round.:thumb2
Fills the arches nicely, I had to trim a small bit off the inside of the front mud flaps and a slither off the bottom of the front bumper to clear on lock.
None of this is visible when looking at the car.

See my thread 31x9.5 R15 or 31x10.50 R15 for pictures.

Cheers

Steve.

Seen a standard 92 Maverick running 235 x 70 x 15's standard road tyres and looked like room wasn't a problem but then didn't look too close. 16 inch rims on mine running 245 x 70 x 16 Cooper Discoverer M & S and there looks to be plenty of room to go up a size or two but mine is a 00 T2 LWB.

Sorry missed this one first time round!!

Road noise of the tyres - yes you can definatley hear them - but scince i fitted the roof rack that drowns out the sound of the tyres, the sound of the engine ....and most conversation come to that!!

But really, I dont think there too bad compared to how well they grip on anything but greased sheet ice.

Steve

30x10.50R15 will go straight on with no mods :thumbs

31x10.50R15 will go straight on the rear but you will have to trim the front arch by about an inch from the bottom of the spat to the bottom of the wing. Its quick & easy plus it still looks ok :thumbs

33x12.50R15 will need alot of front cutting & some on the rear :thumbs

35,37 inch you will need alot of cutting & "extreme-4x4" aka Colin will tell you more if you want to go up that far :thumbs

Hi I'am also new to the site and looking for advice on tyres. Will 31 x 10.5 x 15 so on standard rims? Or would I need to change my wheels? I have 15inch 6 spoke steels on with 235 x 75 x 15r at the moment.

Great site well worth the membership cheers Steve

The tyres will fit on your rims but you will need to trim a bit off the truck. Just take the mud flaps off and then hammer flat the inner wing flange. Simples.
Welcome by the way :D

Thanks for the welcome triming the trucks not a problem just wanted to be sure they would fit on the rims before ordering them. Also I'am going to raise the truck but am desprate for new rubber and cant afford to do both at the moment will the tyre fit without lifting? I am going for the kumho kl71 after looking at some of your pics (makeitfit) truck look smart. Thanks for the help

I had 31s on my old truck with no issues, but it did have a 1 1/2" suspension lift:augie
So I'm not sure how much triming will be needed without, but hey, if it touches cut it :D

Try here www.camskil.com (http://www.camskil.com) as my 4 came in @ £350 :D
All i've done is wound the torsion bar up & +2" shocks on the rear :thumbs
Trying hard not to body lift
