I have a Nissan Patrol 2001(W) 7 seater 3.0 diesel which has been brilliant BUT a week before christmas the turbo blew !.. my local garage who is great with general cars says he could fix it but the cheapest he can get a turbo is £800+ so the cost of the whole job would be around £1100 !!
I just have not got that money so here are the choices I am left with
1. Sell the car to another Nissan enthusiast. As long as I get a good price I would be prepared only because of my finances..so if there is anyone out there
2. Find a better price for the turbo either new, refurbed etc and someone who can do it
Due to my circumstances I would consider either.

Usually very quick, even if the prices are too much they will give you an idea of availability and if you want to fix it.

Don't buy a secondhand turbo - of all the parts on a car this is the most precision engineered and critical to having had regular oil changes etc. I know they are expensive but a used one is a false economy. I had a complete replacement used engine fitted to my work van 2 years back (after a turbo let go and took the bottom end with it) and 3 1/2 months later the turbo on it let go too, fortunately I save the bottom end this time. New turbo fitted and touch wood still going strong.
All that said there's nothing wrong with remanufactured ones.
