Hi Everyone,

I have just joined and live in Saltash, Cornwall.

I bought an 07 X-Trail (old model) last week. I bought it primarily to tow a hovercraft around Britain and being a hovercraft our launch sites are often in muddy fields or near rivers and lakes. So I didn't want an out and out off-road vehicle as it will be used mostly on road but I needed to have some off-road capability... hence the X-Trail :)

Now that we have it I am actually getting quite interested in doing some gentle, greenlaning and so I thought that this club was a good starting point.

I look forward to "meeting" you all online.

Hi Arny & wellcome to the club  You should'nt have much trouble taking you X Trail off road as long as you stick to the gental tracks where their is'nt deep ruts etc but i'm sure someone will be able to give you better advice regarding this than me.
You got a Hovercraft 8O Wow  i've always wanted a go in one of them as they look so much fun :P

can we see some pics? even some of the X-trail too!?

I recon you could get an x-trail quite far with some light all terrain tyres, I have seen free landers go far pretty far in the right hands and the X-trail will be easily as good.

Welcome and enjoy!

Hi Everyone,

Thanks so much for the great welcome.

I am hoping to get some Colway AT tyres soon. Unfortunately it has 17" wheels so I am limited on AT tyre choice. Any better than Colway?

Haven't been off-road since my 4x4 training day but hoping to soon.

Arny

Hi Arny... Welcome to the club.

I think you may struggle with the Colways as the company folded just before Christmas which is a shame as I am running them on my T2. If you go to Sowden tyres there are other options. Unless Colway are back and running which I didn't know about.

Oh Nice motor by the way.

Hi....Arny

I suppose in theory so long as you are towing your hovercraft [what are you doing..oh I am giving my hovercraft a run out  ] you will be the complete off road combination, after all you wont need much grip will you....oh and theres water, we sink you stay on top
