Hi guys .
real bad week this Sheila in hospital had major operation wednesday.
on the table 5 hours .
she is in intensive care ,they took 70% of her liver and gall bladder due to a tumer.
She is doing well and looks a lot better today The hospital staff are really good with her, re assuring her all the time.
Some chap on the same ward has been in a coma for 12 weeks after a motor cycle spill he came too yesterday so that cheered her a little.
She needs plenty of rest for a few months now to give her liver a chance to re grow , apparently its the only part of our body that is able to re grow .
anyway if i am not on very much will catch up when i can .

hi every one .
I am touched by all your kind words as i am sure sheila will be when she is home and i show her this post.
Anyway things are a little better tonight as they have moved her onto a ward ,although she doesnt know much about it due to the morphine injections one every hour .it realy makes her sleepy 5 mins after injection she is asleep .lol.
wakes again after 10 mins and says have i had an injection .
operation site is below rib cage so every time she moves it hurts for a few mins then its more morphine and asleep again.
As for me i am on holiday this week and back at work again for a week then on holiday the following week ,which is when sheila should be coming home so i will be able to look after her better.
work is very close to hospital so easy to nip in
once again thank you all for your support.
rgds.ian and sheila.

hi guys.
just a quick update sheila is off the morphine now and manages to stay awake a little more although she is still having the epidural in her back.
ive told her of all your kind words and it put a tear in her eye .
She asked me to thank you all.
on another point ive de frosted the fridge trouble is ive put a carving knife through the ice box doh.:doh.
gas everywhere ive crimped the core over and it doesnt leak ,we dont use the icebox only the fridge part, ive reset the control to no2 and it seams to be keeping just a couple of degrees above freezing do you thing that is ok for bacon and such things.
By the way i de iced the fridge because the main door was being pushed of its seal by the build up of ice.

Knives sharp objects and freezers do not go well :)

several degrees above freezing would be fine for bacon and such :)
I think a fridge sits at about 6 degrees normally

mav
22-11-2009, 11:44
My opinion only, but i have always thought 6 seems high and consider +2 /+3 better.

well sheila has been told today by her consultant that he is very pleased with her recovery and if she continues to improve she may be able to come home early next week.
