SPEEDBOAT (http://www.humber-yorks4x4response.org.uk/search.php?searchid=1732)
a perfectly separate thread from the "What do you do" in fat normally we'd be chastised for going off topis if that had been posted in there - can't win.
oh got you, did see that one wouldve saved messing up the what do you do thread well anymore than i already have lol
I pity the moderators really, having to read posts with poor spelling,no punctuation, and often words missing, and then be expected to make sense of them!!!!

well as jace put so well there was a degree of off topic within original thread, so why not keep further posts about comments or pictures there.
btw hb your link above? an error?
Hi hummingbird first of all what has made say this, this will not turn into a debate who does what im just interested why.

I read through all topics every day and check all links and presume others do too. I've been away this weekend though so just catching up now.
I wonder if you actually read what you write, do you ever press preview or check your own links? maybe if you did then you woulndn't make so many mistakes in your efforts to contradict and point out peoples failings.

The link Speedboat opens up a link to Humber - Yorks 4x4 response, why? I don't see any relevance to that from this? maybe I'm wrong again? Two spelling mistakes too in your rush to contradict this time. Come on Simon, really not up to your usual standard is it.

Yes oops, the link was wrong, mustn't have hit copy properly and just ended up linking to the last thing I copied instead.
My point was that this seems to be the most recent in a line of absolutely unnecessary moderations - I know whats involved in being a moderator as I do it myself on another forum and have previously being an administrator too. I do however agree (at times) with some of the language and politcial moderations.
Take today, you (Andy I assume) have just split off and formed a new thread about GLASS, yet when someone did just the same off their own back (about a SPEEDBOAT (http://www.nissan4x4ownersclub.co.uk/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=5633) - happy) the thread got closed
As for my typos - well yes everyone slips up now and again but compared to some of the nonsensical posts, I don't think I fare badly on the whole, at least you can understand what I meant, which is more than can be said for some posts, including one not too far away.
Yes but surely Simon if your a moderator on another forum you must also appreciate how difficult it can be sometimes for people to moderate efficently and for most of us its a learnig process.
If instead of starting a new thread in what was probably a temper, you had contacted the moderator he would probaly have been only too glad to expalin his reasoning. I am always prepared to answer any questions on any decisions I make and back them with reason if required. Failing this you can appeal to any other moderator or to the site administration for an aribitatioanl descision.
Starting an agruementative thread is not only below you but hardly constructive, I know you are capable of better and rational discussion is not beyond you.
simple mistake no ones perfect!
My point entirely, and if HB had paused to consider for a moment his post he may have re considered. The spelling mistakes are irrelevant and just goes to show me that HB rushed his post.
Incidently, I split the other thread to stop it from wandering off topic and because GLASS is an interesting topic on its own.
As a moderator, as you know we have a call to make, to try and keep things tidy, on topic and reasonably relevant. I feel for the most of the time the moderators on here do that. But as I've stated elsewhere on here, you can't please all the people all the time, or seemingly nowadays even some of the people some of the time.
i have to say ive found some mods actions pathectic and sad realy but im one few who cant be kept happy i gues!

I closed speed boat because it was a short lived thread, with respectfully humour comments which would be not justify a new thread and not really take the main thread off topic sufficiently.
As Cm says this has lead to another unnecessary thread discussing the actions better dealt with by either discussing directly with me, another mod or admin.

Mods are just trying to keep the place tidy HB thats all and free from untidy posts that dont do anything for the clubs image.
Mav.
but its the moderators that keep dragging it up.
So its still our fault you started a completly unessecary thread. We're dammed if we do, dammed if we don't.
but its the moderators that keep dragging it up.
Sorry but i just dont get it you asked a question we answered it so please look at the quote above and then see who is dragging it up so lets try and all get on.
