Hi NNMan,

Well I have a really dull office job. Your photos brought memories flooding back - I had a holiday in a cottage overlooking Strontian and Loch Sunart many years ago and you've just reminded me what a stunning area it is.

I'm off to check if that cottage is still available for rent...

All the best,

Ian.

Community Plod, I cover a 150sq mile rural beat.

I was a building surveyor but gave it all up do do something I enjoy.

I have a 150 sqmile rural beat and deal with all issues in that area from Hare coursing, Speeding, anti social behavior to the pint of milk that was nicked off the old ladys door step.
It can be very rewarding at times.

I'm self employed and sell Motor Trade Workshop Consumables and Tools. Basically anything and everything you can think of to use in a workshop except the actual car parts like filters, bushes, and bigger parts etc.

Used to be partner in a business producing and selling Motorsport Video/DVD and before that I was full time rally mechanic/technician, and even further back in the mists of time I was in printing.

what sort of tools you sell? im currently looking for a pillar drill and band saw for good price!!!!

Teng, Facom, Sealey etc, can get most brands except Mac and Snap on. Best vlue range is Signet and Trident (lifetime guarantee, excellent quality but without mega price of Snap on etc). For stuff like you're after I'd be stuck with Sealey really and TBH there stuffs only good value when its on offer and when it is theres nothing left in it for me as they reduce the margin massively and you'll find the stuff cheaper on ebay etc. Try me by ll means but can't promise, on hand tools and consumables its a different matter though.

Not sure if you'll be able to see THIS (http://www.humber-yorks4x4response.org.uk/attachment.php?attachmentid=6&d=1190924162), it's the offer sheet from the last 2 months, I haven't scanned the new one, will try to do that today. If anyones interested I'll honour those prices for members, postage will be at cost.

This is great, I like to know what you all do and helps when looking for/getting advice or good deals

Jace, the fish I grow (Rainbow trout to an average of 3.3Kg) are all for the table, Any fillets, stakes or smoaked trout in the super markets, smaller distributers and mail order (smoked) are likly to have come from my farm and prety much certainly from my company. At the mo we produce nearly a 1000 tones a year on my site and soon this will be more than doubeled with permisson for more cages.

XR6X, Strontian and Loch Sunart are beautiful I was up there last summer with my Dad. Good fishing too, we used to go when I was a boy.

NEDDY, I know Kilninver House, I used to live at Kilmelford, before i moved up to Taynuilt.

Keep it coming!

I had a holiday in a cottage overlooking Strontian and Loch Sunart many years ago and you've just reminded me what a stunning area it is.

Indeed it is, we stayed at Resipole Farm caravan park on Loch Sunnart for a couple of weeks in August last year. It's about half way between Strontian and Acharacle. It poured down nearly all the time we were there - and there was a power cut that took nearly 24 hours to fix.

Been doing it for about 9 years but at 2 different companies and as rbrt said about customers they never show gratitude or appreciation the 99% of the time things go right but moan like mad over the odd slow delivery etc.
The one major perk of the job though is the excellent staff discount scheme -groovy- that makes it worth the aggro.

Maybe. I work from Whiston Hosp covering all of St Helens area, a major part of Halton/widnes, and some of Knowsley - mostly the Whiston/Prescot area. I know the paed diabetes nurses up at Ormskirk (June & Leanne), can't recall if they cover your area as well, or if you have your own team? I know that the parent colleague who runs the st helens & halton childrens group (Lynne) has had some contact with the group in your area - she is a volunteer at the Diabetes UK office in Warrington and helps assist voluntary group set up. I also know the nurses down at Alder hey as well.
